Position Summary:
Reporting to the Senior Consultant, Nonprofit Centers, the Membership Services Coordinator will help build and support NCN’s growing membership, coordinate fundraising efforts, and maintain systems to strengthen The NonprofitCenters Network.
The NonprofitCenters Network, a program of Tides, increases the capacity and effectiveness of the nonprofit sector by supporting the development and ongoing operations of shared collaborative workspace and services for nonprofits and other quality nonprofit workspaces.
The Membership Services Coordinator is an exempt position. Exempt employees are expected to work the appropriate and necessary time in order to complete key assignments and related tasks on schedule.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Membership Management
• Develop and implement effective marketing and member acquisition strategy to increase NCN’s membership
• Develop and implement a successful membership retention strategy
• Oversee production and dissemination of all membership materials, including correspondence, prospect mailings, special appeals, and list exchanges
• Maintain analysis of membership recruitment and retention metrics, along with industry benchmarks
• Collaborate with NCN Steering Committee Membership Subcommittee to develop Steering Committee initiatives to increase and retain membership
• Respond to inquiries via phone, email and mail; establish the initial rapport with current and potential members, partners and sponsors, and perform preliminary screening for NCN technical assistance support and service
• Verify and oversee delivery of current member benefits and develop new member benefits with other staff
• Develop and manage affinity group forums
• Develop, write, and distribute communication vehicles directed to members and the general public (i.e., newsletter, website, social networking tools, etc.) in conjunction with Tides Communication staff and Products and Education Coordinator
• Coordinate and process membership applications, orientations, renewals, and expirations in a timely manner
• Coordinate NCN’s membership displays for conferences and events
• Serve as primary administrator of the NCN data in Tides Salesforce which includes data entry, preparation of reports, and overall maintenance and integrity of the system
• Collaborate with Information Technology staff on database management
Fundraising and Business Development
• Develop and manage national and local partnerships to increase NCN membership and visibility
• Coordinate and implement fundraising activities for NCN, including general operating support, project support and events
• Track fundraising plan and progress against goals with updates to the team as necessary
• Draft fundraising letters, proposals and other materials
• Schedule and coordinate logistics for NCN Steering Committee meetings
Additional Duties
• Support NCN member consulting projects as needed, including visioning sessions, interviews, focus groups, and presentations
• Coordinate with Finance Department on monitoring of accounts receivable and cash receipts
• Participate in special projects as directed

• Strong organizational, creative problem-solving and analytical skills; ability to manage situations and meet demanding deadlines.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Familiarity with email and mail marketing campaigns.
• Ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks and projects.
• Experience working with database systems, Salesforce experiences a plus
• Exceptional customer service skills.
Education and Experience:
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent years of related work experience
• 2+ years of experience in a similar position preferably in a membership capacity for an association or nonprofit organization
