Description
The mission of CANFIT is to work with communities and policymakers to develop culturally resonant policies and practices that improve food and physical activity environments for adolescents in low income communities and communities of color. CANFIT helps bridge the gap between communities and policymakers. Since 1993, we have been at the heart of the movement to improve healthy eating and physical activity environments for adolescents in low income communities and communities of color. From grassroots to government, we work with community-based and youth-serving organizations to identify local solutions and support the development of culturally competent policies and practices. - We advocate for policies that improve healthy eating and physical activity environments at the local, state and national levels. - We provide professional development opportunities to support the advancement of culturally competent food and physical activity policies and practices. - CANFIT meets people where they are.
