Description
PODER is a grassroots, membership-based organization in San Francisco’s Mission District, a predominantly working class, low-income neighborhood, with a large population of Latinos and Latino immigrants. We organize members of the inner and outer Mission District neighborhoods to come together to work on local solutions to issues facing low income and communities of color. Our primary constituency is Latino immigrant families in San Francisco. We believe that the solutions to community problems depend on the active participation of all people in the decision making process. PODER believes that improvements to our urban environment must be made through environmental and economic justice.
