Comprehensive Fiscal Sponsorship
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Tides is legally and financially responsible for every project we fiscally sponsor. Projects are not separate entities or affiliated organizations—projects are Tides. Being part of Tides brings each project the credibility and accountability that a successful 35-year history in progressive social change ensures.
Fiscal sponsorship sits at the heart of Tides’ services by providing a legal framework to our projects consisting of:
- Inclusion in the corporate, legal structure of Tides
- Federal and state tax exemption for income and property tax purposes
- State registration for fundraising
- The ability to receive tax-deductible contributions from donors
