The One Nation Working Together March on October 2, 2010, was one of the largest coalitions of progressive organizations in history where thousands of people united on the National Mall to demand a people’s agenda in Washington D.C.

To energize this movement, more than 400 human and civil rights organizations, unions and trade associations, nonprofit organizations, youth and student groups, religious and faith groups, educational, peace, environmental, and ethnic associations rallied to build a more united America.

Coming from all walks of life, these diverse supporters were connected through one shared belief: when Americans work together – raising their voices and casting their ballots – they can overcome any obstacle.

Together they marched with the pride, power and determination to define an America without barriers to jobs, justice or education.  Supporters of the march included Sojourners, National Council of La Raza, NAACP, American Federation of Teachers, and the AFL-CIO.

Recognizing Tides constellation of service offerings and long history of supporting bold initiatives, One Nation Working Together turned to Tides to provide the operational structures necessary to catalyze the emerging movement.

As a partner in change, Tides provided both the mechanisms and programmatic insights necessary at the critical stages to quickly launch the march, to build the movement, and to create the large-scale impact One Nation Working Together sought.
