The Union Square Awards program was established in 1998 to recognize and support innovative grassroots projects and organizations responding to pressing social issues in New York City.
Believing that these organizations strengthen local communities and make vital contributions to the educational, economic, and cultural life of the city, the program extends support to projects and organizations that have not yet received substantial funding or recognition.
