Emerging Practitioners in Philanthropy
Strengthening the Next Generation of Grantmakers

Catering to professionals under forty, have less than five years in the field or hold non-senior-level positions, EPIP is an advocacy voice for a generation aimed at transforming philanthropy, strengthening the pipeline for young people in social change careers.
To help accelerate this transition, EPIP became a fiscally sponsored project of Tides. As partners for change, EPIP and Tides have made possible for 46 members to attend industry conferences and trainings by awarding $34,000 through EPIP’s Professional Development Fund and Next Generation Scholarship Fund. So instrumental is EPIP’s work, the Ford Foundation gave them $200,000 in 2010.
With chapters across the country, including New York, Boston, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, San Francisco, EPIP members belong to a national network that includes local peer learning groups, professional development workshops and mentoring opportunities.
