Serving under the Chief People Officer and Executive Director of Tides Center, the Senior Director of People is responsible for designing, implementing, and sustaining the strategic HR advising practice for fiscally sponsored organizations. The Senior Director works closely with other departments in a matrixed organization to provide services that assist in supporting and growing nonprofits nationwide. The person in this role will lead the HR function using a partner-centric lens to:
- Develop, implement and maintain a HR advising practice that advances Tides strategic goals and the impact of fiscally sponsored partners.
- Serve as a trusted advisor and key thought partner on HR-related matters including talent management, employee relations, performance management, people operations, JEDI, workforce planning, compensation and benefits, and organizational development.
- Provide strategic leadership in ways that are partner centric and high quality, increase access and reduce barriers, and are cost efficient
- Create professional support for the Tides Center HR team including coaching, professional development opportunities, mentoring, etc.
The Senior Director will ensure that the Tides Center HR team centers Tides’ Impact Goal of strengthening the power of groups who face systemic barriers to resources and opportunities – especially BIPOC leaders, their organizations, and communities. Throughout the course of their work, the Senior Director, People will work collaboratively and engage with a diverse group of partners across the FSP portfolio. The Senior Director is also responsible for managing and developing a diverse team through a culture of feedback, accountability and recognition.
Location is flexible as Tides is a fully remote company. Ability to travel to San Francisco and New York City as required.
