How to Refer to Tides

If speaking about general activities of and programs by the organization, use “Tides.” If speaking of a contractual relationship, refer to the specific entity (Tides Foundation, Tides Center, Tides Network, etc.). Tides is not an acronym and should not be capitalized.

Enlisting Tides to Help Share Your News

Please notify us if we can help you spread your news through our many communication channels. We’re particularly interested in stories and photos that demonstrate how your work is making a difference. Contact [email protected].

Sharing Your Photographs With Tides

We invite you to share high-quality photos with Tides. Please provide caption information with the photo including name of organization, date, location and photo credit. If appropriate, we will use partner photos proudly on our website, through our social media channels and in our publications. Please send images and captions to [email protected].

Projects and Social Ventures

If you are fiscally sponsored by Tides, you are required to include language on your website and materials indicating the relationship. Here is some suggested language to include in the footer of your website. If you would like to include our logo, please do so. If you would like to include additional information about your partnership with Tides, please work with your advisor.

[Org Name] is a social venture fiscally sponsored by Tides Center.

[Org Name] is one of 150 organizations accelerated by Tides Center.

Grantee Recognition

We do not require grantees to recognize Tides Foundation for its grant support. However, if your organization chooses to do so in a press release, brochure, or another way, you may use the logo and boilerplate language above. For any mention of Tides in a press release that goes beyond our logo and boilerplate language, please notify [email protected] for quick approval.

Re-using Tides content

We regularly publish blogs, stories, photos, reports and other digital content. If you would like to republish or request Tides content, please notify [email protected] Feel free to share and link to Tides content via social media.
