The Girl Rising Fund was established in 2012 to drive resources to established girl-focused programs in the developing world. Girl Rising is a groundbreaking feature film and a global social action campaign for girls’ education. Originally called “10x10,” it was founded by award-winning journalists at The Documentary Group and Paul G. Allen’s Vulcan Productions, along with strategic partner Intel Corporation. As of November 2015, the film has been seen by millions of people in more than 150 countries and has inspired more than $2M in donations to girls education programs worldwide. Donations to The Girl Rising Fund are evenly distributed among Girl Rising’s nonprofit impact partners, including A New Day Cambodia, CARE, Girl Up/United Nations Foundation, Partners in Health, Plan International USA, Room to Read, and World Vision, all of which operate girls’ education initiatives that provide resources like scholarships, health care services and critical life skills training. An additional even share of the Fund is disbursed among smaller girl-focused NGOs around the world that have been instrumental in the production and distribution of Girl Rising. Girls around the world have tremendous potential. Girl Rising Fund helps them reach it.
