The National Veterans Network (NVN)’s mission is to educate current and future generations about the extraordinary legacy of American WWII soldiers of Japanese ancestry in order to promote equality and justice. Our vision is a world free of racism where everyone is treated equally with dignity and respect.

Our goal is to achieve social justice and democracy by telling the stories and lessons of the American WWII soldiers of Japanese ancestry, through national initiatives that include museum exhibitions, teacher training, curriculum, and public outreach.

The NVN was established in 2010 through its grassroots campaign to award the Congressional Gold Medal, the nation’s highest civilian honor, to the Japanese American WWII veterans of the 100th Infantry Battalion, 442nd Regimental Combat Team and Military Intelligence Service.
