Momentum Mixer: Social Philanthropy Brings Top Social Media Leaders Together to Discuss Social Media and Social Good

This Wednesday, July 18th, top executives from the leading social media firms will come together in downtown San Francisco to discuss how next generation donors are using social media to make an impact and raise funds. Panelists include Ken Weber, Executive Director of Zynga.org, Libby Leffler, Strategic Partnerships Manager at Facebook, Connie Chan Wang, Social Media Marketing Manager at LinkedIN and Manager of LinkedIn for Good, and Ramya Raghaban, News and Politics Manager at YouTube. The discussion will be moderated by John A. Byrne, CEO and Founder of C-Change Media and former Editor-in-Chief of Businessweek.com.

Wednesday’s  Momentum Mixer will focus on how the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors can leverage what the social web has done for social commerce and apply it to philanthropy. Specifically, how are the next generation of donors and philanthropists using social media to do good? How has social media changed business-as-usual for philanthropy? And what comes next?

Kate Byrne, Director of Marketing & Communications at Tides, says, “Who better to speak to the role of social media and the changing face of philanthropy in the 21st century than the leaders, innovators, and strategic thinkers in the social media space? And who better to gather them together than Tides, the master convener of the social sector space. We are thrilled to be joined by Ken, Libby, Connie, Ramya, and John, and look forward to a thought-provoking and insightful conversation on Wednesday.”

This Wednesday’s Momentum Mixer will occur at Credo Restaurant, from 6-8pm, and is open to the public, though space is limited. If interested, please RSVP at [email protected]. Tides Momentum Mixer Series convene nationally, providing the opportunity for all interested in making social impact to meet, network, and share innovations happening right now. Fueling imaginations and provoking conversations as how best to tackle what lies on the horizon, Momentum Mixers convene all sectors to learn and collaborate.
