We seek first to understand by listening with curiosity and acting with empathy, engaging in authentic and direct communications to build trust with one another. Tidesters have each other’s back and give and receive feedback that ensures mutual support and success. We give ourselves and others the grace to learn and grow.

Accountability

We do what we say we will do to act with integrity in service of our mission, taking ownership of our actions, decisions, and impact, including areas that we need to improve. Tidesters are mindful of our words and tone, understanding intent is different from impact, and discuss and mutually agree on who owns responsibility to clarify roles and streamline work.

Creativity

We are change-seekers who innovate to generate transformative outcomes that spark social change. Tidesters dare to embrace risk and challenge the status quo to advance our field, remaining open to the answers we may find in unconventional places in collaboration with those we serve. We are realistic about what we don’t know to remain open to new points of view.

Work from Anywhere

After closing our offices in 2020 due to COVID-19, Tides reopened our offices in New York and San Francisco in 2021, thereby marking our transition to a hybrid organization. Today, Tides supports Tidesters in their choice to live and work from anywhere in the US as a remote-first workplace. Where you work is up to you!

Employee Union

Some positions at Tides are represented by and subject to a collective bargaining agreement (CBA) with SEIU Local 1021. We specify on each job opening if it is included in this CBA. Those hired into a union-supported position will receive information regarding their benefits, rights, and obligations at a new hire orientation facilitated by a union representative. Pay Transparency

At Tides we openly share our approach to compensation to create trust, hold ourselves and each other accountable, and ensure equity across the organization. In support of wage transparency advancements, all of our job postings include salary information. We value pay equity and account for factors such as your location within the US and your relevant experience, and we will not ask for your salary history. Our recruitment team will gladly share more details during the interview process.
