As the Chief People Officer, you will report directly to CEO Janiece Evans-Page, and will lead the organization’s People team of 25 employees as well as oversee the delivery of benefits and other HR-related services to 800+ staff of the Tides Center. You will play a crucial role as a member of the executive leadership team, advising on both people and organizational decisions and serving as a trusted mentor and thought partner to help the leadership team navigate complex decision-making processes. You will serve as a cultural champion for the organization, ensuring employees feel connected to the organization and its mission in a complex, remote-first environment. An additional area of focus will be building upon the organization’s overall HR infrastructure, ensuring Tides has the talent and structure it needs to support its employees and mission throughout ongoing growth. Working with the organization’s newly unionized employees will also be critical to success in this role. While Tides is not the first unionized social justice organization, it wants to turn this into a superpower for achieving its goals.

The ideal candidate will be personally connected to Tides’ mission and see this role as an opportunity to directly act as a force for social good around the world. The candidate should have results-driven change management experience within complex, matrixed organizations, ideally in both nonprofit and for-profit companies, especially those with a focus on social justice. The candidate is expected to have parallel strengths in strategic and operational excellence as well as cultural and environmental transformation skills.
