Spero Justice Center’s mission is to eradicate unjust and extreme sentencing practices from the American legal system.

We work to abolish the death penalty and reduce new death sentences by providing resources and support to teams representing clients facing the death penalty in numerous states around the country.

We also work to end excessive sentencing practices in Colorado, where almost 30 percent of the state prison population is serving life or virtual life sentences. We do this by representing individuals serving extreme sentences, fighting for decarcerative policies, and changing false, dehumanizing narratives about those who are incarcerated.

Co-founded in 2005 by Robert Redford and his son and board chair, James Redford, The Redford Center harnesses the power of film, video and new media to engage people through inspiring stories that galvanize environmental action.

Drawing on the family’s multi-generational expertise in filmmaking and activism, we produce, fund and fiscally sponsor impact-driven productions that showcase stories of individuals taking action to protect and restore the planet.

Leveraging our network of issue experts and a stable of talented directors and producers, The Redford Center carefully vets each project we take on through one of our programs.

Redford Center Original Productions produces original impact-driven documentaries that showcase stories of people taking action to protect and restore the planet for current and future generations. Each carefully vetted project starts with a thorough analysis of the issues and is produced in-house by a nimble team of adept filmmakers. All feature length Redford Center original productions are released with an accompanying long-term community impact campaign designed to engage people with inspiring stories that galvanize environmental action.
Redford Center Grants provides early-stage funding to independent media makers telling hopeful stories that drive awareness, education and tangible action on a variety of environmental topics.
Fiscal Sponsorships extend our 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status to independent filmmakers so they can solicit tax-deductible donations from individuals, foundations and other grantors.
Throughout our process, we collaborate with artists, activists, issue experts, policymakers, educators, scientists, business leaders and philanthropists. We invite issue outliers into the conversation as well so they can understand how they too can be part of the solution.

Because we believe a greater impact occurs when environmental champions join forces, The Redford Center works with change-making organizations to lead community engagement campaigns that spark conversation and galvanize environmental action.

The Trans Justice Funding Project is a community-led funding initiative founded in 2012 to support grassroots, trans justice groups run by and for trans people. We make grants annually by bringing together a panel of six trans justice activists from around the country to carefully review every application we receive. We center the leadership of trans people organizing around their experiences with racism, economic injustice, transmisogyny, ableism, immigration, incarceration, and other intersecting oppressions. Every penny we raise goes to our grantees with no restrictions and no strings attached because we truly believe in trans leadership.

The Transformational Prison Project provides spaces where those who have been harmed and those who have done the harming can come together and engage in dialogue—to build understanding and empathy toward those who have been victims of violent crime through the practice of Restorative Justice. TPP is committed to understanding individual harms and the systemic harms that affect communities, more specifically communities of color.

URI is a global grassroots interfaith network that cultivates peace and justice by engaging people to bridge religious and cultural differences and work together for the good of their communities and the world.

We implement our mission through local and global initiatives that build the capacity of our 883 member groups and organizations, called Cooperation Circles, to engage in community action such as conflict resolution and reconciliation, environmental sustainability, education, women’s and youth programs, and advocacy for human rights.

VC Include provides advocacy, leadership training and education to investors to accelerate investment into diverse and women-led VC and Impact fund managers. Our goal is to drive positive economic and social impact and to increase underrepresented People of Color- and women- led startups and technology enabled businesses by working with asset managers and asset allocators to create a more inclusive investment industry.

Voices for Progress Education Fund (V4P Ed Fund) galvanizes the advocacy of business leaders, entrepreneurs, philanthropists, and other prominent individuals who unite to champion a healthy climate and environment, strengthen our democracy, and ensure economic and social justice for all.

Vote Early Day is a nonpartisan movement of media companies, businesses, nonprofits, election administrators, and creatives working to ensure all Americans have the tools to vote early. When Americans vote early, they ensure that last-minute problems, busy schedules, changing election laws, and voter disinformation cannot prevent us from casting our ballots. By building celebrations with a broad collaboration of national and local partners we are lowering the barrier for entry to our democracy and meeting voters where they are.
