We envision a world in which women collaborate globally to create security, empowerment, and opportunity for girls, women and their communities.

WaterNow Alliance is a network of water utility leaders interested in jumpstarting sustainable water solutions in their communities. We focus on innovative strategies to accelerate adoption of reuse and efficiency technologies, green infrastructure, watershed health, stormwater recapture and groundwater management.

The Women & Justice Project (WJP) advances the leadership and builds the power of women directly impacted by incarceration to transform the criminal legal system.

WJP’s guiding principle is that girls and women most directly impacted by the criminal legal system have the right to be and should be leaders in efforts to transform that system and the conditions that drive that system.

WJP believes we must shift from a society that uses incarceration as a response to social and economic issues, criminalizes and dehumanizes people of color and people from low-income communities, and prioritizes punishment, to one that addresses root causes of incarceration, values each person’s inherent dignity and right to reach her full potential, and addresses harm through a transformative approach that promotes healing, accountability and repair. Through advocacy, organizing, culture change work and facilitating the leadership of women directly impacted by incarceration, WJP aims to catalyze our collective ability to transform the criminal legal system and create a just and loving world for women and all people.

The Women Have Wings Award honors women of courage who have taken bold risks to ensure a more just and peaceful future for us all. The inaugural year of the Women Have Wings Award – 2012 – celebrated the 75th anniversary of Amelia Earhart’s notorious global flight. With an endowment funded by the sale of the fully restored sister-ship of Earhart’s 1935 Electra 10E, Women Have Wings has honored forty-one courageous women. This global recognition increases the awareness of their work, infuses their in-country movements with desperately needed resources and fosters collaboration between annual Award recipients and the larger global community. Women Have Wings acknowledges the generous efforts of the Women Have Wings Global Council of Advisors, for without their wisdom, this Award would not be possible.

WAKE links high-impact, innovative women’s rights leaders to technology tools and expertise to help them accelerate their impact and scale their work.

Women’s rights organizations and activists are leading the charge to address the most critical issues impacting women and girls, including gender-based violence, trafficking, child marriage, access to healthcare and education, political participation, and economic empowerment.

At the Women’s Heart Alliance, our mission is to prevent women from needlessly facing and dying from heart disease and stroke. That’s why we’re focused on an area too long neglected in research, prevention, and care: The differences between men and women.

Many people are surprised to learn that heart disease is the number one killer of women in the United States (US). In fact, heart disease kills more women in the US each year than all cancers combined. And women are at greater risk of dying in the year following a heart attack than are men: 1 in 4 women will die within one year of their heart attack, compared to 1 in 5 men.

When it comes to heart disease and stroke, women and men are not the same. Women’s hearts are smaller. Their risk factors can be different. Their symptoms can be different. Their response to therapies can be different.

Yet, most of the research on heart disease and stroke is conducted on men. Most of our diagnostic tools were validated on men. Most treatments were tested on men. And, too often, health professionals aren’t aware of these disparities—and too many patients aren’t either.

Our Alliance draws attention to these sex differences and promotes activities that raise awareness and drive change—whether we’re working with local communities, college students, medical experts, or policymakers.

World Without Exploitation (WorldWE) is the country’s largest national coalition dedicated to ending human trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation (HT-CSE). WorldWE was founded in 2016 to challenge and change the policies and systems that perpetuate the commodification of women and girls. With more than 190 NGOs under our umbrella, we are uniting communities across the country to advocate for policies that result in permanent solutions to combat human trafficking, sexual exploitation and their underlying causes. WorldWE unites hundreds of diverse partners from across the country in our collective efforts to drive a national agenda, engage in effective education and prevention programming, leverage partnerships, and ultimately change laws, policies, and perspectives about HT-CSE.

YAX aims to engage public high school youth in free, high quality visual and performing arts programming, and build arts and leadership skills through community engagement projects. Spanning multiple disciplines, our work includes architecture, dance, fashion design, filmmaking, film photography, music production, printmaking, and percussion in the following programs:

Summer Stipended Internships and Intensives
Youth Advisory Board and Teaching Assistants
Exhibitions in professional arts spaces each session (including the Youth Arts Summit)

Our pairing of professional artists with youth fosters a multidisciplinary creative community from which public art projects and civic interruptions emerge as art inspires action. Projects conducted in the context of the city’s vibrancies and disparities, are realized beyond classrooms in the real world.
