In a community that has systematically ignored the problem of domestic violence in its midst, Shalom Bayit’s purpose is to break that silence and create effective, culturally-based strategies to improve community response to domestic violence.

Our goals are to support battered women on paths to safety; organize effective strategies for violence prevention and response; and improve Jewish women’s access to domestic violence services.

Services: Shalom Bayit programs include:

(1) support groups, individual counseling and advocacy to battered women and their children;

(2) domestic violence prevention, education, technical assistance and training to community groups and individuals; and

(3) teen dating violence prevention programs in schools and camps.

We are a resource center for networking and community organizing for effective domestic violence intervention, prevention and response in the Jewish community.
