Our mission is to empower children with serious illnesses to express themselves through the power of filmmaking.

Children with serious medical conditions face overwhelming challenges—scary and painful medical treatments, isolation from friends and family, and the emotional toll of uncertain futures. Filmmaking gives children a way to leave behind the medical world and just be kids again. Instead of children with illnesses, they become kids with cameras and stories to tell. They become directors, writers, animators, and actors. Instead of patients with little control over their situation, they become confident filmmakers who can create anything their imaginations dream up.
Through our programs, sick children rediscover their active, creative selves. They learn new skills. They have fun and connect with others. And as they discover new ways of expressing themselves, they deepen their sense of who they are. Their self esteem goes up. And most importantly, they gain a sense of purpose and hope, which helps them cope with their illnesses and believe in the possibilities of the future.

Since 2000, BayKids has been turning young patients into proud filmmakers. We have helped over 6,500 children experience the joy of creative expression through filmmaking.

Belveron Partners is a privately held investment firm with a focus on preserving affordable and workforce housing across the United States. Belveron’s portfolio comprises of close to 30,000 units of affordable housing in 20+ states.

Better Care Network (BCN) is an international network of organizations committed to supporting children without adequate family care around the world. BCN works by fostering collaboration, research and information sharing on family strengthening and alternative care, and advocating for changes to national, regional, and global policies to improve children’s care situations.

The mission of the BCN is to facilitate active information exchange and collaboration on the issue of children without adequate family care and advocate for technically sound policy and programmatic action on global, regional, and national levels in order to:

– Reduce instances of separation and abandonment of children;
– Reunite children outside family care with their families, wherever possible and appropriate;
– Increase, strengthen, and support family and community-based care options for children;
– Establish international and national standards for all forms of care for children without adequate family care and mechanisms for ensuring compliance; and
– Ensure that residential institutions are used in a very limited manner and only when appropriate.

We believe better food policy comes from inclusive and equitable civic engagement. When food policy councils embrace complexity, engage diverse perspectives, and collaborate across boundaries, enduring food policy solutions emerge. In the spirit of abundance, this fund provides innovative support for food policy councils working with and through both community members and local government to push food policy forward.

The Biodiversity Funders Group (BFG) is a professional association of environmental, conservation, and climate and energy grantmakers. Today, approximately 75 funding institutions, predominantly private foundations, are formal members, while more than 200 other grantmaking institutions benefit from our activities as program partners. Altogether we reach nearly 1,000 philanthropic staff and trustees, mostly based in the United States with some based in other countries around the world, including Canada, England, and Switzerland.

We believe that grantmakers are more effective when they learn and work together, with focused and sustained collaborations allowing for deeper engagement and understanding on a variety of biodiversity issues. The Biodiversity Funders Group fosters cooperative and collaborative grantmaking by nurturing groups of funders who network, learn, and explore opportunities to work together, with active leadership from members who act as co-chairs or serve on planning committees and steering committees. We plan yearly gatherings, coordinate webinars on a wide variety of topics, and distribute electronic newsletters, announcements, and reports, to help members and program partners learn about opportunities and keep up with relevant news about each other, biodiversity, and philanthropy.

The California Consortium for Urban Indian Health (CCUIH) supports health promotion and access for American Indians living in cities throughout California. Established in 2006, CCUIH is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) statewide alliance of Urban Indian health organizations and substance abuse treatment facilities collectively referred to as UIHOs. By blending the leadership and experience of our consortium members with shared resource development, and by combining applied research with educational and policy advocacy efforts, our mission is to facilitate shared development resources for our members and to raise public awareness in order to support a health and wellness network that meets the needs of American Indians living in urban communities.
