Advancing Black Economic Empowerment: Partners Leading Systemic Change

Each February, Black History Month invites reflection, celebration, and renewed commitment to equity. At Tides, we honor this month by uplifting the changemakers who are creating lasting impact in Black communities across the country and around the world. 

Amid today’s complex realities, we recognize both progress and persistent challenges. Recent research shows that Black wealth is increasing — but so is the racial wealth gap. Real progress requires systemic change anchored in community leadership, equitable access to capital, and generational wealth-building. That’s why we’re spotlighting several organizations who are leading the way in advancing Black economic empowerment.

  • The Black Empowerment Fund: Invests in Black-led and Black-empowering organizations across Los Angeles, strengthening local leadership and community infrastructure for long-term economic prosperity.
